Job Summary:

The Associate position will support all elements of asset management and will be involved in a wide range of commercial real estate investment strategies in a fast-paced and challenging environment. The role will support a Senior Vice President in managing the operations, leasing, financing and valuation of the investments. The position may also include responsibility for the oversight of individual assets under the supervision and direction of the Senior Vice President. The position requires the ability to understand fully the assets’ investment objectives and strategies, related loan documents, partnership agreements, and historical and projected property performance. The Associate role is intended to provide the opportunity for motivated, talented individuals over time to gain the experience and judgment to progress to asset manager level competency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and review quarterly valuation and reforecast models
• Review and scrutinize annual operating budgets and monthly financial statements
• Prepare property performance reports for internal management
• Monitor investment partners, third party property managers and leasing agents to improve property performance
• Model hold/sell and various analysis for senior management
• Perform periodic property inspections; some travel required
• Develop, review and implement annual business plans
• Update and maintain market information for Multifamily, Build-to-Rent and SFR product types
• Assist in the disposition process: Procure of BOVs, broker-buyer interviews, organize DD materials and facilitate transaction related tasks. 

Qualifications:

• Good understanding of the operational and investment fundamentals of institutional real estate
• Excellent verbal, writing and interpersonal communication skills required
• Must have strong quantitative analysis skills; financial modeling experience is helpful
• Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment with low to moderate supervision and the freedom to propose and implement creative solutions
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required
• Working knowledge of ARGUS is helpful but not required
• 1-3 years of experience in a commercial real estate organization, or private equity, investment banking, or commercial banking experience with a real estate focus.

Education:

• Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree is a plus.

Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Associate in Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis is responsible for budget, forecast and month end deliverables, and management reporting. This highly visible position performs quality financial analysis that provides business segment leaders an understanding of key drivers and integral business decisions.

Duties:

• Annual budgeting

  • Maintain the design and implementation of budget software systems to efficiently expand the budget process and enable end-to-end budgeting while creating and providing reports based on the company’s financial statements
  • Perform independent analyses directly related to assisting with the company’s general business operations
  • Streamline the annual budget and forecast process, including maintenance of models to successfully integrate new businesses
  • Compile consolidated annual budgets by developing templates, assumptions, analyses and reports for various company and department managers

• Financial analysis and reporting

  • Create, review and analyze monthly/quarterly actual versus budget P&L’s
  • Support Executive Management reporting by developing monthly and ad hoc reports while researching general ledger activity for accuracy
  • Evaluate accounting activities to obtain an understanding of relevant financial matters and reporting changes to accurately budget
  • Present the conclusion of analysis per business segment to Executive Management as well as supporting performance metrics
  • Enhance processes and capabilities of all business segments by developing new reports and models
  • Maintain the design and implementation of the software system to allocate personnel between divisions

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Undergraduate in finance, accounting or related degree
• Must have strong attention to detail, devotion to accuracy and data integrity
• Experience in Adaptive or other financial software system a plus
• Strong proficiency in Excel, including Power Queries or Power BI
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills; analytic creativity and insight
• Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to discuss issues with a cross-functional point of view
• Good interpersonal skills adequate for dealing and communicating clearly with people from all levels of the organization including senior management (CEO, President)

SUMMARY:  

Become a member of the M&A and Investment Banking team of an opportunistic real estate-oriented investment firm. Responsible for supporting senior bankers and firm principals in executing transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings and other corporate finance activities. Evaluate progress of existing investments and analyze feasibility of potential new investments.

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Assist in the preparation of valuation and other financial models/analyses.
• Create and maintain marketing and valuation materials, pitch books and other deliverables.
• Conduct due diligence on potential transactions, including financial, legal and operational aspects.
• Work closely with senior team members in deal sourcing, negotiation and execution of transactions.
• Conduct industry research and competitive benchmarking, and analyze market trends to support the strategic direction of M&A transactions.
• Monitor and track the performance of portfolio companies, sometimes working closely with management teams to help drive growth and operational improvements.
• Support the exit process by preparing divestiture strategies and coordinating with advisors.
• Monitor and source relevant industry news and trends to share and educate the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance or private equity
• Strong competencies in Excel and the overall financial valuation and modeling processes
• Excellent Microsoft Office Skills (including PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
• Elevated attention to detail and consistency in work product
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
